Sneak Peek: A Lady in Waiting...

Kenna loves dogs and plants and cats.  She takes walks along the brush and the creek.  She plays golf.  What a lovely young lady in the making.  More pics to come next week....

Cineapolis

Cineapolis is a luxury movie theater my cousin took me to for our birthdays. Wow, the lounge area was simply amazing. It was a foretaste of our experience in the theater itself. While in the theater, I was treated to a reclining lounge with a slide out tray for eating. Waiters discreetly come around and deliver cocktails, appetizers and dinners as movie goers enjoy the show. My camera broke right before we entered our theater area but I was able to grab some pics of the high end lounge (and no worries, I was able to go to a local Nikon shop and have it fixed for free :-)). The topper: we were able to choose a child-free/ teenager free theater. It was a 21+ only screening. Nice.

Talk about light bulb...

Such comfy sofas and ottomans...

Don't forget the tree...

Escondido Falls in Malibu Canyon

Escondido Falls is hidden in the gorgeous Malibu Canyon right off Malibu Beach.  In order to reach the Falls one must hike through a neighborhood of million dollar homes.  The view was breathtaking and the homes incredible.  Prior to our arrival, we were stuck in 2-2.5 hours of traffic and had followed some wrong directions on my iPad map app.  The hike was mostly canopied with trees but because the sun was setting fast we just cut short of the first tier of the falls.  At least we now have another reason to go back!

I love how my baby's eyes are just peaking over my shoulder.  Compliments to the unknown passerby who offered to take our pics!

So Much Work, So Much Fun

My 3 children give me much pain and pleasure.  It is hard to deal with the collection of needs, hurts, wants and sins mixed in with my own needs, hurts, wants and sins.  Homeschooling them intensifies everything.  I am never really apart from them except when they are sleeping.  I know it feels like a curse at times but I know too well that these difficult times of child rearing will also be the most wonderful.  I love seeing them grow and mature.  I love seeing them impish and naive.  I love them loving me and each other.  Time is flying so fast but overall, I would say we are so happy together.

Happy Easter--Pointing to God

2 Corinthians 5:21 says it well:  "Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God."

Christ took on all of His people's sins and experienced of the fullness of God's wrath against them.  In exchange, He clothed us with His perfect life of obedience, that we would stand before God as pure, spotless and blameless children.  To finalize His victory over sin, He was resurrected from the dead.  Death and sin no longer have a stranglehold (Romans 6:9).  Happy Easter.  May your soul long for the heavenly truths as these these buildings and trees do.

The Study of Children's Eyes

Children have such beautiful eyes. Since they have a lot less baggage and inhibition, their eyes seem to convey a lot in those still moments. In these pictures, I tried use whatever I could to frame them. From dollhouse windows, toy cars to even cups and cupcakes, all of these were used to bring attention to their precious eyes.
